Instagram’s short video feature reels have been a massive success since the closure of Tik Tok. Apart from Instagram, Facebook and YouTube have also come up with short video features, but all the short videos can be seen only on mobile apps. There is no such feature on the desktop version. As per the demand and competition, Facebook-owned app Instagram has also decided to offer reels feature on the web version.

Several leaked reports say Instagram is working on the beta version of its short video feature reels and will be launched soon. Droid Maze is the first to report about it. The reels icon for desktop is seen in the app, which looks the same as Android and iOS.

However, this icon is not visible to all users. According to the report, this has been seen with the help of reverse engineering. Apart from the reels support for the desktop, another new update is there, after which stories appear to display the time left for your story to finish.

Instagram has not officially reported on the new fitter. The new feature is currently being tested on the Beta app and may be launched soon, though no information about the launch date is available at present.

Earlier in March, Instagram released a new update after which users can save their stories in drafts. At present, nearly 500 million people worldwide are using Instagram stories, and the number of users is increasing every day.

Facebook-owned social media platform Instagram launched Reels last year. Facebook was trying to rival the Chinese social media app Tik Tok through it. Instagram Reels allows users to make small musical videos as they are made in Tik Tok. Users can make and share their 15-second videos. Users get the option to set music in videos. At the same time, users can also use audio of other users’ videos in their videos, like Tiktok.

Instagram has released several features for stories, including GIFs, stickers, background music, etc. Now, if you don’t want to live your stories immediately after the new update, you’re currently getting the option to save only. Still, the disadvantage is that only stories save, text, and emojis are gone, but after the new update, you can save everything in the draft.

Earning on Reels

Instagram is now introducing some new features in its video-sharing platform Reels, which will give a tough competition to Tik Tok. According to Android and iOS developer Alessandro Paluzzi, the Instagram reel considers giving money as a bonus to users. Paluzzi has handed over the claim to the backend code of the app over this upcoming feature. He also shared a screenshot associated with this upcoming feature on Twitter.

If this screenshot is to be believed, Instagram users will be asked about their favorite reels. After this, the users will have to meet the milestones (criteria) set on that reel and earn on it. However, the entire criteria for earning have not been revealed at the moment. This is not the first time that social media platforms are offering cash benefits to users. Earlier last year, Snapchat introduced this feature. Recently, YouTube has also announced ‘Shorts Funds’ for its short video platform Shorts.

Currently, users can see numbers like Play, Account Reach, Like, Comment, Save and Share in Reels. In the live video, creators will be able to see information like account reach, peak concurrent views, comments, and shares.

Along with this, Instagram has rolled out some new features on its platform. Among these new features, Insight Support and Live Video Support have also been introduced for Reels. With the help of these features, video creators and businesses will get help. With their help, video creators will be able to understand how their creators are performing.

If someone doesn’t make reels, still enjoys watching, and after the web support, it will surely increase the popularity of reels, and content creators will enjoy the monetary benefits also.
